What a lovely day the P&C chose for PJ Day this year! Staff and students were very snug in their pyjamas, at the same time raising $700 for the P&C. Thank you to everyone who participated and to the P&C for their ongoing support of the school.
The next P&C Meeting is on Monday, June 18th at 8:45am in the staffroom. This lively, friendly group of parents are doing a great job supporting the school. Their fundraising priority at the moment is the resurfacing of the basketball courts. Please consider calling in on Monday morning and joining the P&C. You only need to be as involved as you wish.
Miss Campbell and I met with a representative from a resurfacing company last week. We believe we will need to raise about $25000 to resurface and mark the courts. Currently we have raised about $14000 so we have passed the half way mark!
Thank you to everyone who voted for Bertram Primary School in the Coles, Kwinana Marketplace community competition. We were very excited to gain the most tokens and be presented with a $2000 voucher.
Class photos are going along smoothly. We were only allocated three days this year so it has been a tight squeeze to fit everyone in! If you have any questions about class, individual or sibling photos, please talk to the ladies in the front office or Miss Moug. The Year 6 Graduation photo will be taken in October once our leavers have their polo shirts.
Bertram is once again entering the Speak Up Awards in 2018. This is a public speaking competition for Years 4 – 6. A large group of students have indicated their interest in participating in Speak Up and they will be presenting their speeches to Mrs Awashti, Mr Cardenia and me tomorrow. From this group we will select the Bertram team of 3 to compete next term.
On Friday ‘Bop til You Drop’ will be coming to Bertram for the first time. This company specialises in running school discos and we are looking forward to two wonderful, noisy, bright events on Friday evening. Parents are reminded that Kindy and PrePrimary students are allowed a maximum of two adults in the undercover area with them but are requested to give their children enough space to enjoy their disco with their friends. Year 3 students have the option of attending either of the discos.
The fantastic Year 6 Camp fundraising group will be running a sausage sizzle and be selling coffee and cakes at the disco. Don’t worry if you haven’t pre-ordered your child’s ticket or sausage sizzle, they will be available on the night. Glow sticks and other novelties will also be on sale at both discos.
Reports will be emailed and uploaded to Connect on Friday, June 22nd. If you have changed your email address please let the front office know so we can update your details. Emailed reports are accessed through a link which expires after 4 weeks so please ensure you save your child’s report. Reports uploaded to Connect will be accessible for as long as your child is in a public school.
Thank you for continuing to model our Bertram FRREE behaviours for your children.
